A School Bus Demolition Derby is a sport where School Buses enter a well blocked off arena, they wait for a countdown, then they all back into each other, each trying to disable all the other competitors. The last School Bus still running in this event is the winner. Since the school buses have a lot of rear overhang the buses can sometimes crush the back ends until they are shortend up to the rear wheel wells, making for an exciting and interesting type of Demolition Derby. The buses are often painted with wild paint schemes and sometimes have the flashers going for the whole event, kids love this sport because they love to see the buses they hate get destroyed.
BUS DEMO DERBIES SAVE THE RAINFOREST!
One of the really great things about school bus demolition derbies is that they help save the rainforest Some of the buses that may normally go to a junk yard in the U.S. are often sold to south america to be used as crummies to get people to the rainforest for slash and burn operations. If we destroy these buses instead of selling them to south america then south america has a harder longer time finding buses to help them tear down the rainforest This gives the charities that save the rainforest more time to buy the land to be preserved!!! So if you want to help save the environment and help stop global warming then buying old school buses for demolition derbies is the thrilling way to go!!!! Especially if you own a business because the whole bus can be a billboard for your businessthat several thousands of fans will most definatley look at (instead of ignore like its a city bus driving down a city street). So you help the environment, advertise for your business (and likely pay for the school bus with the extra sales) and get a superthrill that is more than likely worth it!!!!
